Supermarkets and Shopping in Verbier

Verbier offers excellent shopping, and there is a broad mix from the very down to earth to the very upmarket. You will find a number of stylish fashion boutiques, several jewellers, two book stores and a wide selection of sports stores. The village also has two art galleries and a florist.

Supermarkets and Grocers

If you are self-catering or want to stock up on lunchtime snacks for the mountain, there are also about a dozen food outlets including specialist cheese shops, and several butchers, bakers and wine and spirits sellers. Notable supermarkets in Verbier include:
Brunet – Rue de la Velle 1, 1936 Verbier
Co-op – Rue du Centre sportif 2, 1936 Verbier
Migros – Immeuble les Arcades, 1936 Verbier
PAM – Immeuble les Arcades, 1936 Verbier

Migros and Co-op typically offer the best selection. Migros is generally considered cheaper but Co-op offers free delivery. The PAM discount store next to Migros is also good for the basics, plus wine and beer.

The bakery near the Medran/Hotel Rosalp has to be recommended for fresh bread and croissants plus fantastic cakes! For other local delicacies you can stock up on cheeses and cured meats at any of the epiceries, laiteries or fromageries in the village. Many are happy to let you have a taste before you make a decision, so don’t be afraid to ask!

Sports shops

Sports shops obviously tend to dominate in Verbier, and there is nothing you can’t find related to alpine sports in the village. Xtreme Sports Ski Boutique in the Place Central and No1 Sports near the Médran lift station are among the best, but there are many more to choose from depending on what you are looking for. For specialist boot fitting, Mountain Air is certainly recommended, with a team dedicated to finding you the perfect ski and snowboard boots.

Boutiques and Shopping

Place Blanche – Here you can shop all day in a modern, glamorous complex right below the slopes. Home to the Mountain Air flagship store, sports enthusiasts can dive into the latest and the greatest in terms of sports attire and gear.

Place Centrale – Surrounded by sports shops and retail brands, the area around Place Centrale has something to offer anyone searching for high quality gear before hitting the slopes and trails, a good night out, or a casual dinner with friends.

Swiss and mountain-inspired interiors shops are in the centre of town. Beautiful wooden trays, handmade mountain cushions, and fur blankets are just the beginning. For some original local handicraft, head to Bagn’Art where you will find a selection of ceramic and wooden items typical of the Valais region.
