How do I rent a property?

You can rent a property by contacting the owner or property manager of a particular property directly.

When you are on a property page of the site, you will see a prominent ‘Contact Owner’ tab, and clicking this will allow you to send a message to them, with your request about renting their property.

Please make sure you provide the owner with all the details they might need to handle your request, including:

* Dates of your stay – from when until when
* Number of adults and children (and their ages) in your party
* Any special requirements, such as wheelchair access etc.

The owner of the property will also receive your email address and name, so they will be able to respond to your request directly by email.

How do I pay for renting a property?

This will depend on the way the owner of a property wants to be paid. This website does not take payments for any property rentals, and you will deal directly with the owner or manager of the rental property.

What’s included in the price?

The price you pay is set by the property owner, and in the listing you should find what the price includes.

Typically, the price you pay will include accommodation, the provision of bed linen and towels, plus laundry and cleaning at the end of your stay. However, please check with the owner of the property you are renting. Some owners/managers include fully catered services, for example, whilst others offer only self-catered, or charge separately for catering. And similarly, some owners/managers prefer to charge laundry and cleaning separately.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Different property owners have different ways of charging. You will need to ask the owner when you make your enquiry for a property.

Booking Deposit
Many will ask you to pay a deposit to secure your booking (sometimes a few hundred pounds and sometimes a percentage of the rental charge – perhaps 50%), with the balance being due maybe 8-10 weeks before your visit. Other owners will want to receive full payment at the time of booking.

Damage Deposit
On some occasions, an owner or manager will charge a refundable damage deposit which, as the name suggests, will be returned to you if you leave their property in the appropriate condition.

Are pets allowed in the chalets and apartments?

As a general rule, pets are not welcome in rental properties. However, many property owners are happy to allow small dogs into their properties, perhaps with a modest damage deposit being charged upfront, and refundable after your visit.

What’s NOT included in the price?

The price you pay will generally cover accommodation, laundry and cleaning, but please check with the property owner or manager what is included.

In addition, you will need to pay for all travel, as well as travel insurance (including additional cover for skiing or other extreme sports you intend participating in).

You will also need to pay separately for equipment hire, instruction and lift passes, if these are relevant to your visit. There is information about the services available in the village on the website.
